NanoPack attended the first workshop of the “European Pilot Production Network” (EPPN) on November 28, joining other H2020 pilot projects funded under the Industrial Technologies Programme in the area of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (NT&AM). Since 2014, 35 NT&AM pilot projects have been launched, accounting for over 200 M€ funding and representing over 80 piloting facilities distributed across 30 European Regions.

The workshop introduced the EPPN as a 3-year cluster activity around these H2020 pilot projects and facilities, with the ambition to boost European competitiveness in the area of NT&AM. By providing a virtual marketplace, supporting the development of a network of fully connected and collaborating pilot lines, and facilitating the access for new costumers and potential investors, the EPPN intends to enhance the exploitation of the existing European pilot line production facilities. One immediate initiative is the creation of an operational map of all European open pilot facilities and services for upscaling of nanotechnologies and advanced materials, for which registrations were recently opened. Besides NanoPack as a consortium, NanoPack partners Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant and Fraunhofer Gesellschaft are now included in the EPPN network.
